The Pack (2011)

AKA: La Muete

Starring: Phillipe Nahon
Director: Frank Richard

Premise:
A woman picks up a hitchhiker. They stop at a bar. The man disappears. She attempts to find him and gets caught be the owner, who turns out to be the hitchhiker's mother. The mother keeps the woman to feed her "pack of children" when they rise from poisoned soil.

My Take:
I enjoyed the first two-thirds of this movie, even with all eccentric characters that feel a bit forced at times, as it drawn out and leads you down one path. Then it changes on a dime to a different path, which is fine, but the final act simply gets too frenetic and makes little sense. If the ending would have kept the same control and pacing as the rest of the movie it all may have worked much better.

Rating: In the middle
