The Hunter (2011)

Starring: Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill, Frances O'Connor
Director: Daniel Nattheim

Premise:
A hunter is hired by a company to find and kill the last known Tasmanian tiger for its DNA.

My Take:
Quite simply, I thought this movie was awesome.
The movie plays heavily in the drama genre as this lonely hunter begins to immerse himself into and care about the family that is putting him up. But it also often borders into horror territory often as the hunter is isolation in this vast wilderness looking for a animal that may or may not be extinct and how he has to deal with the locals who obviously dont want him around.
A strong cast, beautiful scenery, and solid yet subtle direction helps to draw the viewer into the story.

Rating: So Good
