The Cemetery (2013)

Starring: J.D. Brown, Natalie Jean, Tim Cronin, Adam Huss, Tabetha Ray
Director: Adam Ahlbrandt

Premise:
A production crews goes to a rural cemetery that was a site of an mass exorcism in the 1600's. While onsite the crew awakens the curse.

My Take:
The movie has some short comings but isn't terrible. The special effects are good and so is the story about the cemetery. Unfortunately, the viewer doesn't really care for the characters or their outcomes.

Entrails of the Virgin (1986)

Starring: Seako Kizuki, Naomi Hagio, Megumi Kawashima
Director: Kazuo Komizu

Premise:
A group of up and coming models go to the woods with a photographer crew for a weekend photo shoot.

My Take:
Soft core porn disguised as horror flick. Seriously there's about 1 minute regular scene then it cuts to a 5 minute sex scene for the majority of the first half of the movie and since it's Japan, most of it is censored. The result is a film where you dont care about the characters. So when the horror does start happening it's not a big deal. I find it far more disturbing the way blatant misogyny portrayed in the film.

Premise:
A man returns to his home town where a series of child murders, including his twin brother, happened years ago. He believes the cause was a children's television show and sets out to find answers.

Ash vs Evil Dead, Season 2 (2016)

Starring: Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Lee Majors, Dana Delorenzo, Ray Santiago, Ted Raimi, Joel Tobeck, Michelle Hurd

Premise:
The continuing saga of Ash Williams and his fight against demons trying to take over the Earth.

My Take:
Season one was a fun, breath of fresh air which re-familiarized Ash's plight with the Deadites to the audience. But season two kicked everything into high gear fully wrapping itself in the original Evil Dead universe by linking the film and series together plus homage to many classic moments of the movies. It's funny, it's way over the top, it's creepy, and most of all it's just an excellent half hour of entertainment each week.

Starring: Allan Kayser, Bill Mosely, Leslie Easterbrook,
Director: Devon Mikolas

Premise:
A group of college kids go to one of their houses for the weekend only to be terrorized by recently released psycho and his sidekick.

My Take:
The viewer doesn't really care for too many characters in this movie and it takes away from the big twist that shifts the focus of the third act. Before that, the movie is really a lot of the same type of torture and criminal violence that has been seen before.

Starring: Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Joel Kinnaan, Jay Hernandez, Adwele Akinnouye- Agbaje, Jai Courtney, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevinge, Karen Fukuhara, Adam Beach, Ben Affleck, Viola Davis
Director: David Ayer

Premise:
The government assembles a team of dangerous villains and meta humans to combat against other threats to mankind.

My Take:
I feel like the movie was decent enough to set through but really missed out on being a signature film in the DC landscape. It all felt rushed with little meaningful backstory for nearly all the characters and the forced rock tune soundtrack every other scene got annoying really quick. Maybe I should just stop hoping for better out of the franchise.
