Demon House (2018)

Starring: Zak Bagans
Director: Zak Bagans

Premise:
A paranormal investigator buys a house in Gary, IN that is called a portal to Hell and has had numerous people claiming something is not right in the house.

My Take:
I have never been a fan of Bagans' Ghost Adventures series. However this unique case interested me as it's in the near the area where I currently reside. No doubt some of it is extremely creepy and disturbing, but dont look for any resolution. There is really no deep digging into the past of the house and what may have caused the haunting or the socioeconomic situation of the people in the area. What the viewer is left with is just as many questions as we started with on the subject... and a good scare.

Rating: In the middle

Killer Contact, Season 1 (2014)

Starring: Austin Cook,

Premise:
A group of paranormal investigator tackle some of the biggest mysteries in history from a different perspective.

My Take:
I liked the mysteries the show tackled (Vlad the Impaler, The Hellfire Club, Jack the Ripper, The Mayan Empire, Lucrezia Borgia, and teh Butcher of Iquique). Unfortunately that is where the praise ends. Each episode follows the same format and feels very staged. Just because you get some hits on electric gadgets does not mean contact has been made.

Rating: Warning (big time)

Alaska Monsters, Season 1 (2014)

Premise:
A group of cryptid hunters search the Alaskan terrain for legends and myths.

My Take:
The show is set up a lot like it's cousin Mountain Monsters. Except I found most of the cast far more annoying and seemingly like they are obviously turning it up for the camera. It also seems like a lot of staged instances. Dont expect much. What I do enjoy about the show is learning about new cryptids. However I wont be watching any more of this series.

Rating: Warning
