Supernatural, Season 11 (2016)

Starring: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard, Ruth Connell, Emily Swallow, Curtis Armstrong

Premise:
Season 11 has the Winchester battling an ancient force called The Darkness. This force wants to end the earth and all life on it.

My Take:
The show still manages to stay interesting with it's big ideas, going beyond Heaven vs Hell to the bigger God vs Darkness. And the always pleasant cast goes through the material with ease.

Super Duper Alice Cooper (2015)

Director: Sam Dunn, Reginald Herkema

Premise:
A look at the life of rocker and showman Alice Cooper

My Take:
I've always been a fan of Alice Cooper. This doc takes into when the band first formed in Detroit (in high school) and eventually transformed into the group known for their macabe stage show. The bands breakup leading to a one man show and all troubles behind. Great stuff.

Unfriended (2015)

Starring: Heather Sossaman, Matthew Borhrer, Courtney Halverson,
Director: Levan Gabriadze

Premise:
After internet shaming a girl to her suicide the group of friends responsible start getting killed off.

My Take:
I am definitely not the demographic for this flick. I found it stupid. Really this group of friends are going watch their other friends all get killed on the internet and not do anything except chat and scream. Idiots... or maybe I am just missing the point.

Hellacious Acres: The Case of John Glass (2011)

Starring: Pat Tremblay
Director: Pat Tremblay

Premise:
A man wakes up in a sleep chamber to discover Earth has been devastated by war and no longer habitable.

I give props for creativity and stretching a budge for their premise, but the most ends up boring due to the extremely long takes and mundane activity by the main character.

The Nightmare (2015)

Director: Rodney Ascher

Premise:
A group of people discuss having sleep paralysis and the terror it causes them and try to get answers to why it occurs.

My Take:
I have always been a fascinated with this subject, especially since finding out my wife suffers from it. The movie does goes into the history of sleep paralysis but mostly it's people describing their terrors and reenactments. It's interesting but at the same time it could have been so much better.

That is until almost everyone I know said this is a must see. They were correct. It an great series full of action, dark characters, and just good fun.
