Starring: Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago, Arielle Carver-O'Neill

Premise:
This season has Ash discovering he has a daughter and Ruby has returned to continue her plan for an evil takeover.

My Take:
The show manages to remain witty and fresh. Plenty of practical gore effects as well. Too bad this is the end of the run for the series, but at least it goes out in a bang.

Premise:
A group of people are whale watching off the coast of Iceland when an accident occurs and the captain dies. They are rescued by another vessel which is actually ran by a family of lunatics

My Take:
The movie is basically a homage to Texas Chainsaw Massacre expect with Icelandic fisherman and a boat. It works and hits all the right notes.

Director: Marcus Koch

Premise:
Two journalist are investigating a serial killer called "The Teardrop Killer" who has been on a twenty year spree. They end tracing clues to an abandoned circus where the killer and his daughter hides.

My Take:
There's a parallel story line with how the killer got started and the journalists tracking him down years later. The acting is (mostly) superb but the movie makes up for with loads of gore.

Premutos: Lord of the Living (1997)

Starring: Andre Stryi
Director: Olaf Ittenbach

Premise:
The son of the first fallen angel has visions of his past lives and tries to reincarnate his dead wife with a mystical book. Instead he unleashes the dead.

My Take:
The movie is kind of all over the place with the story and the flashbacks, but it does contain lots of viscera and gore gags.

Dear God No (2011)

Starring: Jeff Bryant, Madeline Brumby
Director: James Bickert

Premise:
A motorcycle gang goes on a murder and raping spree (apparently a daily occurrence) and end up in breaking into the home of mad scientist.

My Take:
Well you have bikers, bigfoot, crazy people, Nazis, and just about everything else under the cliches B movie sink thrown in this misses. I understand what it was going for, but unfortunately it misses the mark. It's just bad, hard to watch, and throws lots of shock value at the viewer for the sake of shock value.

Dead Pool (2016)

Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin
Director: Tim Miller

Premise:
A man dying of cancer signs up for experimental treatment with gives him super human regenerative powers. Now he seeks revenge on the man who ruined his life.

My Take:
This is the movie fun I've had watching a flick all year. Seeing the sassy anti-superhero comes to the big screen under Ryan Reynolds is pure joy. The constant pop culture references and bagging on the Marvel movies themselves is hilarious.

Premise:
The revolting gladiators and slave lead by Spartacus continue their fight against Roman Republic and the Roman who killed his wife.

My Take:
Picking up where season one left off, the series continues is reign of over the top blood shed and nudity. There is also plenty of treachery and deceit involve as well. Overall it makes for an entertaining series and fine season.

Blitzkrieg: Escape From Stalag 69 (2008)

Starring: Steve Montague, Tatyana Kot, Brenda Cooney, Gordana Jenell
Director: Keith J. Crocker

Premise:
A former Nazi officer tells his story to a priest after escaping a team of assassins years after the wars.

My Take:
The movie needed at least 30 minutes trimmed from it. Even then, it would probably still be rather boring. It cuts between current and past events with little interest in either story. The whole thing is a homage to similar flicks of the 70's and is full of nudity and torture, but little substance.

Fetus (2008)

Starring: Brian Paulin
Director: Brian Paulin

Premise:
After a man's wife and baby during child birth, he turns to the dark arts to fill his sadness in an attempt to make contact with his dead spouse.

My Take:
The movie feels stretched out with it's short premise. However where the story lacks, there is enough over the top gore to satisfy horror fans.

Bone Sickness (2004)

Starring: Rich George, Runy Larocca, Daray Zabinski, Brain Paulin
Director: Brain Paulin

Premise:
A woman is caring for his terminally ill husband. The man's best friend stumble upon a way to help cure him by a potion made from bones of the dead. The potion has side effects and leads to a unimaginable conclusion.

My Take:
The story goes from one of simple means to a massive apocalyptic tale in the final act. It was a way too ambition for it's low budget. The acting isn't great, the movie needs trimmed down, and the story doesn't explain much of anything. Still the solid make up and practical effects can keep you entertained.

Rating: In the Middle (barely)

Dr. Lamb (1992)

Starring: Danny Lee, Simon Yang
Director: Danny Lee, Billy Tang

Premise:
A taxi driver is arrested on suspicion of being a serial killer. The police and his family interrogate him until he finally admits to the grisly crimes.

My Take:
I found the first half of the movie rather boring. The main character keeps getting beat on by the cops in hopes of a confession. Then they let his family berate and beat him. Finally the man snaps and gives the details of his killings (which makes up the second half). The killings are gory and disgusting. There is disturbing sexual acts too. I think the version I say was the rated version. I guess there is an unrated version, if one can find it.

Rating: Warning

Almost Human (2013)

Premise:
A man is taken away by a bright light in the sky. His fiancee and best friend was the last to see him before the disappearance. Two years later, the mysterious lights have returned. So has a murder spree which lead people to believe someone has returned home.

My Take:
I enjoyed this flick. There is a decent amount of gore and good practical effects. The story is a little thin and familiar but it creates a mysterious experience to the straight up mayhem.

Adam Chaplin: Violent Avenger (2011)

Starring: Emanuele De Santi, Denny Richards
Director: Emanuele De Santi

Premise:
A man summons a demon who takes control of him, in order to find out who murdered his wife.

My Take:
This is one crazy ass flick. I have never seen anything quite like it which is a huge bonus. The demon makes this man into a super strong, ultimate killing machine. And lives on his shoulder. The splatter content is high. A solid effort by the writer, director, actor, composer De Santi and should be one to watch out for in the future.
