Premise:
Eight years after the tragic events of the Hell House opening there still in no answers as what truly happened in the hotel or to the crew. An investigative journalist wants to uncover the truth.

My Take:
The movie adds to the Hell House mythology with a little more backstory and another tale of people trying to uncover the truth. While it holds the viewer interests and has its share of creep out moments; it's not quite as shocking as the first movie.

My Take:
The movie has some good gore but lays a little too much on the viewer way too quickly before wrapping it all up.

Premise:
A documentary crew goes to the sight of a haunted house attraction where several people died to do a supposed malfunction in order to find out the truth.

My Take:
The movie surprised me. It's well made as it switches between the past found footage and the current documentary team. There are a lot of creepy moments in the film too which keeps the viewer engrossed.

My Take:
Better than most movies done in this style. At least they give valid reasons for always recording and using cameras. Good suspense build up too.

My Take:
A fine sequel which is even more intense than the original with the cast playing it perfectly.

Premise:
Two CIA agents are go undercover at NASA to investigate if the moon landing is a hoax on the American public.

My Take:
Who doesn't love a good conspiracy and this movie tackles one of the biggest ones. It manages to weave together many theories behind the faking of the moon landing and makes a compelling story.

Premise:

My Take:
The movie plays a bit to much to comedy at times and takes way too long to get where it's going. Yet it kept me engaged enough to keep watching and the pay off is worth it.

My Take:

Premise:
A group of people under go these experiences called "Blackout" which borderline on physical and mental torture.

My Take:
The scenario for the movie seems interesting but it quickly goes nowhere and becomes a lot of the same things over and over. It plays out as a straight forward documentary which I dont think really helps in the viewers search for answers.

Premise:
A television crew returns to an Eastern European village to do follow up on a home improvement show. They find hostile locals with deep superstitions and beliefs which leads to fight for survival.

My Take:
It takes a long time to build up to the final, and it's one that can be seen a long way out, but it's makes for a decent journey. It would have been nice to see more about the witches lore and village superstition in the story.

My Take:

Premise:
A couple buy a house in rural North Carolina only to find out it is haunted by the first settlers that came there and cursed to all.

My Take:
The season is broken down into two connected parts. The first part with the tale as a docudrama television show is far more appealing than the bat shit craziness in the second half of the series when the producers decide to make a "Big Brother" type sequel in the house and throw way too much at the viewers. It becomes horror cliches after cliche, which tends to be the norm for the series.

My Take:
While the movie has interesting take on the undead rising it gets kind of annoying that the movie is shot through "eye glasses with a camera". Sometimes it works but often it doesn't.

Premise:
A crew starts filming a medical documentary dealing with woman's battle with Alzheimer's. As the days unfold there seems to another force at work causing the damage

My Take:
I have dealt with my grandmother falling victim to this disease. The first part of the movie portrays many things we dealt with in caring for a family member with the ailment. Slowly as the movie progresses hints of an evil entity possessing the woman and a mystery concerning the town's serial killer may be the real reason for the woman's condition.

Digging Up the Marrow (2015)

Premise:
A director gets a letter from a man who claims there is an in-between place under the Earth where monsters live... and he has proof.

My Take:
While Ray Wise is great in the roll, maybe a less recognizable face would have been better. Maybe that was the point as most of the flick feels like an inside joke from the director. It ends up being a nice mixture of original horror movie and true documentary footage.
