A couple buy a motel and discover strange things about it.

My Take:
Nic Cage discover a two way mirror in his newly purchased hotel that may be linked to a series of murders and prostitution. He freaks out and battles his own personal demons. It's all familiar material that has been done better in other movies.

Hell House LLC II: The Abbadon Hotel (2018)

Director: Stephen Cognetti

Premise:
Eight years after the tragic events of the Hell House opening there still in no answers as what truly happened in the hotel or to the crew. An investigative journalist wants to uncover the truth.

My Take:
The movie adds to the Hell House mythology with a little more backstory and another tale of people trying to uncover the truth. While it holds the viewer interests and has its share of creep out moments; it's not quite as shocking as the first movie.

The movie gets a tad confusing at time as it jumps between the play rehearsal and real life with the characters. An interesting and more subtle movie from director Miike.

Expedition Unknown: Search for the Afterlife (2018)

Starring: Josh Gates

Premise:
A search for the answer to is there life after death.

Hold the Dark (2018)

Starring: Jeffrey Wright, Riley Keough, Alexander Skarsgard, James Badge Dale, Julian Black Antelope, Macon Blair
Director: Jeremy Saulnier

Premise:
A woman calls in a wolf expert to track down the wolf suspected of taking her son before her husband returns from the war. What the hunter finds is a violence and a mystery stranger than he could have ever imagined.

My Take:
The movie wont be for everyone. It's a slow paced movie full of despair. There's not a lot of explanation behind the actions of the parents. The scenery of the Alaskan Wilderness acts like a character itself.

Prevenge (2017)

Starring: Alice Lowe, Kate Dickie, Jo Hartley, Tom Davis, Gemma Whelan

Premise:
A pregnant woman goes on a murder spree at the request of her unborn child.

A different take on what a woman goes through during pregnancy and her connection to the unborn baby. It also plays out a lot on a woman's fear. It's a dark and rather comical movie, especially how she picks out the victims.

Premise:
Wrestlers compete for a championship belt.

My Take:
Each season of this show is fantastic with it's fast pace ring action, over the top characters, and outrageous stories features human sacrifices to the Gods, a supernatural robotic hand, black magic returning wrestlers from the dead, and so much more. Every wrestler has a story. As I have said before this isn't like most wrestling shows out there which is what sets it apart and makes it so much damn fun. They had better get a season 5.
