Proud to admit that I am a horror junkie.
However, my definition of what falls under the realm of horror entertainment is fairly wide. Horror is an emotion experienced differently by individuals.
These are short reviews of the movies, television series, novels, comics, albums, and any thing else which crosses my path if I feel like falls into the wide world of horror entertainment.

~Mind Blowing: Search for this movie immediately. It can only be described as pure greatness and possible an instant classic.
~So Good: Highly recommended because for one reason or another it stands out above the usual fair. Put the movie on your radar as it wont disappoint.
~In the Middle: The movie is a nothing special, average affair. It may entertain in the short term but it will be easily forgettable in the long haul.
~Warning: This movie is a cliched driven slop of familiar territory. Only watch if you're really of fan of this type of material.
~Steaming Pile: The movie is absolute garbage, a complete bore, and not worth the time or effort.

Premise:
Two sisters are stuck in their small town under quarantine while their parents are on the other side. At first they enjoy not having any rules... then the infected start to show up.
My Take:
Nothing was necessarily bad about the movie, but I just really couldn't get into it. Maybe you will like it better.

Premise:
A woman is bitten by something during her bachelorette party trip overseas. Her body starts changing and morphing upon her return home.
My Take:
One tends to forgive the unlikable character's lack of judgment and gaps of time due to the outstanding practical effects and sheer gross out moments. Sit back and enjoy the ooze.
Premise:
While on vacation a man gets a blood transfusion that turns him into a vampire. His wife must care for him and deal with the transformation and decide how to cope with this new situation.
My Take:
While there is nothing terribly new in the premise or underlying theme of the movie, it is well executed and well acted by the two leads thus keeping the viewer interested throughout.

Director: Russell Friedenberg
Premise:
A group of friends on an annual hunting trip. When one of them disappear they all start turning on the ex soldier who may be schizophrenic, however he knows a secret and tan ancient legend may be the real cause of their demise.
My Take:
The movie is sort of a mess with much of the story or characters never flushed out. It's really all over the place. The lone bright spots are Glenn Powell and the lore of the windwalker which seems to be a version of the wendigo.

Director: Kevin Smith
Premise:
A podcaster goes to rural Canada to interview a man who claims to have lived an amazing life full of tales. He soon is held hostage by the man who has plans to turn him into a walrus.
My Take:
The movie has a crazy story and contains some of the typical Kevin Smith banter. Parks chews up the scenery with ease delivering a stand out performance. The other characters do their job.

Premise:
While researching a cure to the disease which ended his son's life, a scientists discovers a lethal virus has been created and his is the first carrier.
My Take:
Michael Elklund is one of the more under rated actors working today. I am also captivated by his performances. This movie is no different as he carries this slow burning flick. However, the movie feels like something is missing to put it over the top.
Premise:
Four people sign up for a medical test which promises to cure all ailments. They awaken several days later isolated in a building and noticed they are some how changed.
My Take:
The movie has a decent amount of twists and turns in the plot. The cinematography and special effects look great.

Premise:
Set during 1950's in Florida at one of the last remaining carnivals filled with human oddities. There are also other "freaks" in the town such as a murderous clown and rich psychopath and a con artist who specializes in procuring freaks for a museum.
My Take:
Well one cant say the show isn't packed full of unique and interesting characters. Sometimes I wonder isn't just weird for the sake of being weird. They way the stories are told, leaves lots of gaps if one is too think about it. Often, especially this season, it is a case of style of substance. think that is what keeps me tuning back in but I wasn't overly pleased with the season.
