Premise:
A woman is kidnapped by a pair of bank robbers and break down along a strip of deserted road, only to find out they are at the mercy of a man who hunts humans for sport.

My Take:
The movie jumps around between different genres which makes it a tad uneven. The real plus is watching Pat Healy play one warped individual.

My Take:

Premise:
A disturbed vet returns home from the Vietnam War and invades a house shared by a group of woman who proceeds to murder.

My Take:
The movie definitely shows some age but it managed to get under my skin. There are a couple of intense scenes, like a forced lesbian rape scene, which are cringworthy.

My Take:

Red To Kill (1994)

Premise:
A man who runs a learning center for mentally disabled adults is also a serial rapist of women who wear the color red. After he rapes ones of the women in the center, her social worker seeks revenge.

My Take:
A hard to watch movie due to all the raping and dealing with mental challenged adults. A lot of it is for shock value but it doesn't make any less unnerving.

Premise:

My Take:
I feel like the movie would have been better if went into full on bat shit crazy mode instead of riding the dramatic line. There are still a couple of very disturbing scenes which makes it worth the watch.

My Take:
All I can say is this flick is creeping and disturbing. You might not look at actor Mark Duplass the same way again.

Premise:
A man falls for a Hollywood vixen who happens to be a werewolf. And a low budget movie producer seems to have a new idea for a film for his star actress.

My Take:
Sometimes I just want to watch a good B movie. And I like the work of Tiffany Shepis. In my opinion this movie would have been a lot better without all the boring voice overs. Dont tell me what you are thinking, show me. It's a damn movie. Then things go full on mental in the third act.

Rating: Warning (but a guilty pleasure)

Premise:
An old lady helps out her neighbor by watching her daughter for the weekend. The lady has room full of butterflies that she forbids anyone to enter. The young girl thinks the lady is hiding a body of another young girl in the room.

My Take:
It was nice to see horror legend Barbara Steel get a lead role. She plays the part with ease as one minute she's a sweet elderly woman and next a demented person. The flashback story helps moves the flick along. While it is a highly engaging movie I felt it was just off from being great.

My Take:
The best thing I can say about this movie is McCord plays a good psychopath. Otherwise it's a boring stinker.

My Take:

Premise:
A radio host prepares for her final broadcast when a psychotic fan interrupts with the news he has her daughter and he is taking over the show.

My Take:
The movie gets a lot of mileage out of a familiar story by throwing in a few new wrinkles. The cast is good and so is the direction but in the end the movie is rather forgettable.

Bates Motel, Season 3 (2015)

Starring: Vera Frarmiga, Freddie Highmore, Olivia Cooke Max Theiriot, Nestor Carbonell, Kenny Johnson


Premise:
A mother and her unbalanced son run a motel in a small town. She battles with the city and a rich developer who is trying to move the highway. And then there is the random deaths which keep popping up.

My Take:
This season turned it up a notch in weirdness and uncomfortable scenes as Norman's relationship is finally more deeply explored and the viewer sees how unstable the young man actually is. Still for me the whole Norman and Norma dynamic is the least interesting of the show. I am far more intrigued with Dillon's estranged relationship with his mother Norma and brother Norman and his father-uncle and his trying to be a legit marijuana grower. This season was a make or break season for me and it did just enough to keep me on board for season four.

Killers (2014)

Premise:
A disturbed serial killer forms an online friendship with a journalist who is fed up with a Japanese mob boss ruining Jakarta. After the journalist commits an act of murder in self defense, the serial killer thinks he found a soul mate and a person to mentor. The journalist falls under the spell of the killer and begins to hunt down the mob boss. Eventually the journalist decides to stop and rejects the killer who then targets his family becomes the next victim. That is if the mob boss doesn't get to them first.

My Take:
This is one twisted, edge of your seat flick and it's great. The leads are top notch. So is the writing and directing from the Mo Brothers. Go watch this flick now.

Premise:
A soldier shows up on the doorstep of a family claiming their dead son saved his life. They offer him a place to stay. Soon after a series a mysterious death to those who have wrong the family has the eldest daughter thinking the soldier isn't exactly who he claims to be.

My Take:
This is a wild ride of movie... and a darn fun time.
