Premise:
After witnessing her mother being murdered, a young girl has amnesia and is sent to an all women psych hospital for evaluation.

My Take:
The movie tosses together subplots of a women's prison, medical experiments, a hired killer, and murder together is one crazy ass bowl of visual soup. It's not great but hard not the watch

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2017)

Starring: Milla Jovovich, Ali Carter, Iain Glen
Director: Paul W,S, Anderson

Premise:
Alice attempts to make it back to Raccoon City in hopes to release the cure for the virus and save all  human kind

My Take:
A lot of chasing in this final battle to save humanity for the T-Virus and of course the same crazy action the series in known for.

Honestly I was never a big fan of the movie series, but big fan the original games, yet some how I managed to watched them all. Fans of the series will probably enjoy the final installment.

Blood Drive, Season 1 (2017)

Starring: Christina Ochoa, Alan Ritchson, Colin Cunningham, Thomas Dominique, Marama Corlett

Premise:
A police officer accidentally gets involved in a cross country race of death with a female racer who owns a car that runs on blood.

My Take:
An very fun series that never takes itself or any moment too seriously. There is plenty of gore, wit, and strangeness to satisfy. And Colin Cunningham steals the show as the puppet master Julian Slink.

The Blackout Experiments (2016)

Starring: Andrew Gallagher, Bob Glouberman, Jessica Sowa
Director: Rich Fox

Premise:
A group of people under go these experiences called "Blackout" which borderline on physical and mental torture.

My Take:
The scenario for the movie seems interesting but it quickly goes nowhere and becomes a lot of the same things over and over. It plays out as a straight forward documentary which I dont think really helps in the viewers search for answers.

Dead Walkers: Rise of the Reich (2013)

Starring: Philip Berzamanis, Jane Haselhurst
Director: Philip Gardiner

Premise:
After WWII the Nazi's managed to keep a top secret experiment in tact. Years later they are finally ready to unleash this deadly menace onto the world.

My Take:
If you're gonna make B-movie about Nazi's and zombies than you should put an ample of amount of gore. Instead there's a lot of talking and a lot of boring.

The Banshee Chapter (2013)

Starring: Katia Winter, Ted Levine
Director: Blair Erickson

Premise:
A journalist tries to find answers to her friend's sudden disappearance. With the help of whacked out novelist she uncovers a government conspiracy dealing with a mind altering chemical and a radio broadcast.

My Take:
The movie is definitely original and interesting which helps make up for the short comings in other areas. Plus seeing Ted Levine pull off a characterization of Hunter S. Thompson is pretty sweet.

The Chernobyl Diaries (2012)

Starring:Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Jonathan Sadowski, Jesse McCartney, Olivia Dudley, Dimitri Diatchenko
Director: Bradley Parker

Premise:
A group of urban explorers sneak into the abandoned city of Pripyat. They quickly find out others still remain and want to eat the group.

My Take:
The story isn't the problem with the movie. I actually like the idea and the filming. The details are what kills it as most of the characters are one dimensional cliches (especially the foreigners) which the viewer could care less about. I think the cast does well with what it's given. The movie does look good, dispite being filmed in a found footage style.

Rating: In the middle

Mill of the Stone Women (1960)

Starring: Pierre Brice, Scilla Gabel, Dany Carrel
Director: Giorgio Ferroni

Premise:
A reporter comes to a small town to write an article on a sculptor, who lives on an island in an old mill. He starts to develope feelings for the sculptor's daughter and an old flame. He then makes a connection between local disapperances and secret experiments by a local doctor.

My Take:
There is a lot of good atmosphere in this flick. The plot moves a bit slow and leans heavily on drama but mesh works well. The love triangle is interesting and drives the mystery behind the local disappearances. A well done movie with loads of positives.

American Horror Story: Asylum [Season 2] (2013)

Starring: Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Zachary Quinto, James Cromwell, Lily Rabe, Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane, Dylan McDermott, Frances Conroy, Lizzie Brochere

Premise:
A Catholic operated insane asylum holds many secrets about the occupants.

My Take:
The creators seemed to throw every horror cliche in the book at this season. Which is my biggest complaint. A couple of those subplots could have been cut and instead focused more on the barbaric treatment for the patients and the battle between religion vs science. It would been a lot creepier. With that said though, the cast is excellent and pulls off every one of those storylines with ease and believability. There's Lange as a tormented nun who is determined to make up for her past sins, Cromwell as a former Nazi scientist who is continuing his experiments at the asylum, Quinto as a psychiatrist who happens to be a notorious killer Bloodyface, Peters as a young man accused of being the serial killer but was really abducted by aliens, Paulson as the lesbian reporter trying to get the scoop on the killer but instead gets sentenced as an inmate so her homosexuality can be cured, Rabe as an innocent nun who gets possessed by a demon, and McDermott as the son of Bloodyface who is carrying on his father's legacy in the present day. See I told you a lot cliches was tossed into the season. The shows gets more graphic this time around with both gore and sex as it bounces between the craziness of the asylum during the early 60's and present day.

Squeal (2008)

Director: Tony Swansey

Premise:
A van, full of musicians on their way to a gig, breaks down along a country road. They seek help a near by farm house only to find the inhabitants are the results of an experiment gone wrong.

My Take:
The best thing I can say about this flick is it has a cool villain. It's a family of some sort of human pig hybrids. Other than that, your cheering the mutants to wipe these annoying and one dimensional characters off the map.
