My Take:
Well if this was truly the end of the X-Files then I will left a little disappointed. The big overall story arc was a letdown. However, the middle episodes were classic X-Files.

Operation: Avalance (2016)

Premise:
Two CIA agents are go undercover at NASA to investigate if the moon landing is a hoax on the American public.

My Take:
Who doesn't love a good conspiracy and this movie tackles one of the biggest ones. It manages to weave together many theories behind the faking of the moon landing and makes a compelling story.

The Banshee Chapter (2013)

Premise:
A journalist tries to find answers to her friend's sudden disappearance. With the help of whacked out novelist she uncovers a government conspiracy dealing with a mind altering chemical and a radio broadcast.

My Take:
The movie is definitely original and interesting which helps make up for the short comings in other areas. Plus seeing Ted Levine pull off a characterization of Hunter S. Thompson is pretty sweet.

Premise:
Former FBI agents are called back in to the line of duty when a longtime theory of theirs proves to be true

My Take:
This short mini season picks up right were the old series and movies left off. Mulder is closer than ever to figuring out a what the secret society is about to unleash on the world. The ending is wide open to continue the story in one form or another. I am hope for another mini season in near future.


Favorite Episode:"Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster"
This is the tongue in cheek, stand alone episode the show would throw in a couple of times a season. Overtly comic situations are all over this one yet it manages to still ties in with what the season's arc.

The Expanse, Season 1 (2016)

Premise:
A detective is tries to find a missing woman. A ship witnesses an unprovoked attack by a MARS ship on Earth vessel. The news spreads across the solar system causing uproar. A United Nations worker tries to prevent war between Earth and Mars. Soon they find out these things are not coincidence and part of a bigger conspiracy.

My Take:
An indepth and mulitlayered world created with complex characters.Three different storylines happening at once, which are just now starting to come together. Hoping for a good run out of this series. It has a great cast and an intriguing plot.

Rating: So Good

The Conspiracy (2013)

Premise:
A documentary team makes a movie about the people who believe in conspiracy theories. When one of the interviewees suddenly goes missing, one of the filmmakers digs into the secret society which may be responsible.

My Take:
A very interesting and unique take on the conspiracy theory angle. The found footage aspect didn't bother so much in the movie because it fit in with the story. Unfortunately for the main characters they find exactly what they were looking for... and much more.

Helix, Season 1 (2014)

Premise:
A group of CDC scientist are flown into a base located in the Artic to find a cure for a virus outbreak that is mutating it's carriers. Soon the teams finds out there is much more going on at the facility.

My Take:
I thought the series started out strong but got a bit too convoluted and wacky as it went along. There were some answers needed instead of layers on layers of questions. It made for a lot of what the heck is happening here. So far, it's held my interest enough to keep watching season two next year.

Rating: In the middle
