Premise:

My Take:
Much of the move is just boring and good have benefited with 20-30 minutes being trimmed from the long running time.

My Take:
I liked the story but the complete amateur nature of the cinematography took me out of several scenes. For crying out loud, turn off the auto light adjustment on the camera!

Premise:

My Take:
The movie takes the viewer on a somewhat unexpected journey which is a good thing.

A intriguing story that keeps the viewer guessing until the end.

Premise:
A group of city kids go for a weekend in the jungle where strange things begin to occur.

My Take:
A familiar story that has added interest due to the country it was made in. The situations for the characters seem new and fresh. The acting is good and so are the special effects. The director has a way of keeping the movie creepy.

Premise:
A new train is put on the same route as a train that had a horrible, fatal accident years ago. As the night goes on the stewardess start to notice strange occurrences and tries to stop the past and present from colliding.

My Take:
Pay close attention or you gonna end up confused. The movie blends past and present of the two trains (and passengers) to a somewhat unsatisfying ending.

My Take:
Characters deal with psychological traumas and handle it in different ways. Overall it's rather boring, despite the wackiness of the characters, until the final few scenes.

My Take:
Much like other seasons of AHS the writers throw a little bit of everything into the season. At least this one feels like most of the characters have a full arc and their complete story is told.

A rookie cop is assigned to guard an old police station.

My Take:
This is one creepy film. It does an excellent job of creating an atmosphere. There are also enough creepy visuals to make one squirm. If you can get past the reason why the officer is at the station alone on her first night of work, which is rather far fetched, then you are in for a heck of ride.

Suburban Gothic ()

Premise:
A young man goes broke and is forced to move back to his hometown into his parents house. He was also known for talking the dead. It just so happens the yard maintenance crew just dug up a mysterious box.

My Take:
The movie plays more for laughs than horror with hit and miss results. Ray Wise is knock out (as usual) portraying the hard ass coach/father of the main character. It's a fun little watch which is easily forgotten afterwards

Premise:
A cleaning lady at a restaurant thinks the place might be haunted. She puts up with it and the abuse from the owners so she can earn enough money for her son's operation.

My Take:
Slow burning plot which is mostly predictable in the outcome. The lead actress is extremely good in the role though. Plus the direction is tight. Both of these help make the flaws in the story worth sticking around.

Deadbeat, Season 1 (2014)

Premise:
A down on his luck medium helps ghosts get to the other side by resolving their unfinished business. A famous medium finds out about him and feels threatened by his abilities.

My Take:
An enjoyable show that plays up comedy more than anything else. Labine is excellent at playable the "loveable loser" character. The whole side story about the famous medium being threatened because she is a fake gets in the way a bit, but it links the whole season together. I will be interested to see if there is another season and how they expand on the characters.

Premise:
A photographer lures woman into his studio, then murders them. His latest victim may or may not have gotten away and may or may not be a ghost.

My Take:
There's a good mystery in this movie. The viewer never quite knows if the photographer is hallucinating or being haunted. And how it ties into his private showing for collectors is rather slick too.
