Killer Mermaid (2014)

AKA: Nymph

Starring: Franco Nero, Kristina Kelbe, Natalie Burn, Dragfan Micanovic
Director: Milan Todorovic

Premise:
Two Americans visit their friend at his Mediterranean mansion. They visit an abandoned Nazi military post which happens to harbor a deadly creature.

My Take:
At least the movie gives the great Franco Nero a juicy role. Not much else is going on here except beautiful scenery and special effects

Rating: Warning

Watched: Netflix Instant

Apocalypse of the Dead (2010)

AKA: Zone of the Dead

Starring: Ken Foree, Kristina Klebe
Director: Milan Konjevic, Milan Todorovic

Premise:
During a routine military exercise and chemical is accidentally released with kills people and reanimates them as zombies. An Interpol team transporting a fugitive gets caught in the middle.

My Take:
A typical zombie flick which doesn't add much to the genre. And the subplot with the Interpol team feels out of place. There are decent special effects though.

Rating: Warning

Life and Death of a Porno Gang (2011)

Director: Mladen Djordjevic

Premise:
A young director gets involved in making porno movies. He gets in financial trouble with the producers and goes on the run. He gathers a troupe and decides to open a theater to perform adult stage plays. They get shut down and decide to take the show to small villages. Along they way they are propostioned by a German to make snuff films.

My Take:
The movie is graphic and a bit shocking, but not for the sake of mere shock value. It all fits within the story of this group abandoning their morals in order for a pay day in a poverty stricken country.

Rating: In the middle (should be required viewing by all genre fans)
