Premise:
One night a married couple, who also happen to be serial killers, turn on each other.

My Take:
A surprising well acted movie which is basically about a couple's marriage falling apart. The characters are enough to keep you engaged as their hatred for one another rises throughout and so does their tactics for revenge.

Die a Violent Death (2010)

AKA: Still / Tai Hong

Premise:
Four tales based on true events.

My Take:

"Haunting Motel" -My favorite tale of the movie has a two friends, one gay and one straight, pick up a prostitute. They go to a hotel ran by a creepy murderous old lady. This segment borders heavily on slapstick and is a nice change of pace.

"Flame" - A man grieves over his girlfriend after she dies in a nightclub fire.

"Revenge" - A drug dealer kills a woman who steals from him and hides the body in the apartment complex water supply. Adverse effects start occurring to the tenants.

"Imprison" - A man in prison is haunted by his cell mate who committed suicide.

Criminal Lovers (1999)

Director: Francois Ozon

Premise:
A girl convinces her boy friend to murder another guy. They hide the body in the forest where they then find a cabin. The owner captures and plans to eat them.

My Take:
The movie is sort of a twisted take on the fairy tale Hansel & Gretel. It ends up being more of a character study than anything as the three main characters play out their games.
I'm a fan of the director's work and this film holds your interest.

The Wicker Tree (2010)

Premise:
A young singer and her boyfriend perform missionary duties in rural Scotland to spread the word of Jesus. The villagers have other plans for the couple.

My Take:
This flick comes no where near the classic original. I found the two main characters extremely annoying and one dimensional. I couldn't wait for theses two preachy and naive people to get their comeuppance.

True Blood, Season 5 (2012)

Synopsis:
Season Five has Eric and Bill getting captured by the Vampire Authority after Sookie casts them both away. They end up becoming part of a vampire fundamentalist group who believes the word of Lillith and wants to end mainstreaming with humans using them only for food. Sookie and Jason try to figure out who murdered their parents with the help of faes, Tara adjusts to her new "life" with the help of Pam and Jessica; Terry pays for his war sins as he takes on a fire demon, Andy impregnates a fae just when his relationship with Holly takes off, Alcide takes on his pack which is now strung out on V, and there's a human hate group out murdering supernaturals causing Sam and Luna to get involved. And the vile Russel Edgington returns.

My Take:
For me, seasons two through four never quite hit the awesomeness of the first season. It had some hits and misses which managed to keep in watching. But overall the show was stale. In season five the creators seemed to hit the switch and made the show interesting once again.
Many of the characters evolved this season which has changed the course of the show for the better. And all the individual storylines started coming together into one larger, more cohesive, and epic story.
It makes me excited for season six.

Favorite Episode:
"Everybody Wants To Rule the World" - Bill turns on Eric and goes full into the movement as he believes Lilith is taking to him.

Singapore Sling (1990)

Premise:
A detective searching for his missing love stumbles into a house where a psychotic mother and daughter live. They capture and take him prisoner.

My Take:
Be warned. This movie contains a heavy dose of S&M, incest, rape, and violence. But it's done in such a stylish way you get wrapped up in the film noir type story. 
The movie is creepy and very unsettling but on the flip side it's very engrossing.
Not for all tastes.

Exit Humanity (2011)

Premise:
At the end of the Civil War and epedemic of the undead breaks out. One man tries to find his newly turned son so he can be put to rest.

My Take:
After struggling through the first twenty minutes the film picks up and gets interesting.You can only watch a man wander around and grieve for so long.
A top notch cast adds to appeal of the unique story. I could have done without all the animation in place of the gore and fight scenes. It was obviously in there for budgetary reasons but for me it took away from the tale.

Perfect Host (2010)

Starring: David Hyde Pierce, Clayne Crawford

Premise:
A criminal makes his way into a dinner party seeking sanctuary from the police only to find out the host has plenty of his own secrets.

My Take:
A straight forward tale is punched up to the max by its constant twists provided by the two superb main characters. Both are excellent as their game plays out over the night. 
The movie is dark comedy at its best.
