Premise:
Secret organizations have corrupted humanity since the beginning of time in order to steal souls for a master plan. All that stands in their way in a one man and one lost soul. 

My Take:
This is a dense novel which combines all sorts of religous beliefs and historical facts into a fascinating tale that jumps around over time and mold an entirely new take on faith and all religions. It's a daunting and daring task that is well researched and ends up being very interesting. To tell more would spoil the enjoyment.

Stag Night (2010)

Premise:
A group of friends on the way back from a bacholear party get stranded late in the New York subway system with a group of women returning from a night out of drinking, only to come across a group of cannibals living there.

My Take:
A tale full of annoying carbon characters and a lot of gittery camera work which I found completely unnecessary. I really just couldn't get into this film.

Cannibal Man (1973)

Premise:
A butcher accidentally kills a taxi driver which leads to a series of other killings trying to cover  up his acts.

My Take:
A rather slow and predictable tale.

The Walking Dead: Made To Suffer [vol. 8]

Premise:
A group of people try to survive in a world over ran by zombies.

Volume 8 sees The Governor and the people of Woodbury attack Rick's group at the prison.

My Take:
This volume has so much unexpected things happen. And I will not spoil a page but will say it contains carnage galore.

Rating: So Good

Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula (2011)

Premise:
The fugitives Bonnie and Clyde seek help from a doctor in secluded mansion only to find it occupied by a crazy doctor and vampires.

My Take:
If want some campy, good fun then look no further (would expect less from the title). Two different stories play out for most of the movie, one about Bonnie & Clyde hiding from the law and the other is a doctor has resurrected a vampire from the dead, and then come together in the final act of craziness. The movie looks good and the cast portrays it all well. I came away pleasantly surprised.

Automatons (2006)

Premise:
After war has ravaged the planet, a women holds up in bunker making attack robots while fighting off the enemy and getting instructions from her mentor.

My Take:
I would give the makers a little credit for originality and style, but the movie is just boring. I felt like it was a lecture on a fake history of the world and video message of constant threats. Then in the last fifteen minutes there's some craziness and blood shed, but by then you dont really care.

Grimm, Season 2 (2013)

Starring: David Guintoli, Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, Reggie Lee, Claire Coffee


Synopsis:
A Portland homicide detective learns he the latest in a long line of Gimms, hunters of supernatural creatures.

Season two sees Nick putting more pieces together on why the Royal family want with him, Juliette trying to get over the love spell cast on her (which has her gaga for Captain Renard) while trying to reconcile with Nick, and Hank learns the truth about Nick and Monroe.

My Take:
This season really cranks up a lot of intertwining story lines. It makes almost every episode a must see as these layers unfold. The cast is excellent with many of the secondary characters gaining more focus as the series mythology unfolds. 

Favorite Episode:
"The Walking Dead" - The next to episode of the season would have made for a better season ender than the actual season ender. It has one hell of a cliff hanger. A wesen with the ability to turn people into zombie like mutations starts to assemble an army for an unknown reason.

The Raven (2012)

Starring: John Cusack, Luke Evans, Alice Eve, Brendan Gleeson

Premise:
A murderer is basing his killings on the works of Edgar Allen Poe. Poe is hired by police force to help them catch the killer.

My Take:
A bit of revisionist history wrapped up in a mystery. The film really didn't work for me. So much of it was simply convienent in order to move the film along. I did enjoy Cusack's performance as the tortured Poe.
