Director: Chan Park Woo
Premise:
After her father's sudden death, his brother comes home to help out the daughter and emotionally fragile mother. The mysterious uncle seems to have other motives and secrets as he and the daughter grow closer to each.
My Take:
A fantastic American debut by the famed Korean director. The movie is never at a loss for intrigue while riding a fine line on a touchy subject matter. The air of mystery and dread are never too far off each frame and are helped by the great editing and pacing of the film. And the cast has never been finer. I think this film will be like many others of the directors, a great first viewing that only gets better with additional viewings.
