AKA: VVitch: A New England Folk Tale
Starring: Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie
Director: Robert Eggers
Premise:
Set in early 1600's, a man moves his family to the edge of a great forest to start a new life. Soon after getting settled, their newborn son disappears. The eldest daughter jokes about her being a witch and delivering the baby to Satan. As things get stranger with each passing day and tensions rise and it is unclear to the rest of the family if the daughter is the witch behind the misfortunes or an actual witch.
My Take:
A slow burning tale where nothing is quite as it seems the more the movie progresses.
Rating: So Good
