Banquet of the Beasts (1997)

AKA: Kichiku Dai Enkai

Director: Kazuyoshi Kumakiri

Premise:
While the leader of a terrorist group is in prison, his girlfriend takes command. When the group finds out the leader committed suicide they go into a self destructive greiving mode with deadly results.

My Take:
One word describes this flick for me: boring. The fact is not a lot happens and the characters aren't compelling enough to keep the viewer interested. By the time the viscera starts flying, you simply aren't interested. Maybe the scenes were far more shocking fifteen years ago when it was released or maybe critics were simply making a big deal out of nothing. You can decide.

Rating: Warning

  1. I couldn't agree more! Me and an ex girlfriend of mine were dating at the time we saw this. We ordered food and I ran and go beers because we heard how "extreme" it is. We didn't even finish it. Boring as hell and completely overrated.
