Premise:
After his father's death, teenager Norman Bates moves to a small California town with his mother where she bought a hotel. Soon his estranged brother shows up and so do former tenants who have mysterious agendas.
My Take:
I went into this show not really knowing what it was about. It's a brave move to take a well known character like this and move them into the present day. Then throw in an older brother who tracks them down because he no place to go despite his loathing towards Norma and town where many residences have their own secrets. The show has a lot of strong characters and sets up a few multi-layered stories. From the first episode this makes for a compelling series.
Favorite Episode:
"First You Dream, Then You Die" - The pilot episode kicks everything in gear as the mother and soon move to the new town where the met by the former owner who doesn't care for them buying his family property. The tone for the entire season are set in motion.
