~Mind Blowing: Search for this movie immediately. It can only be described as pure greatness and possible an instant classic.

~So Good: Highly recommended because for one reason or another it stands out above the usual fair. Put the movie on your radar as it wont disappoint.

~In the Middle: The movie is a nothing special, average affair. It may entertain in the short term but it will be easily forgettable in the long haul.

~Warning: This movie is a cliched driven slop of familiar territory. Only watch if you're really of fan of this type of material.

~Steaming Pile: The movie is absolute garbage, a complete bore, and not worth the time or effort.

Penny Dreadful, Season 1 (2014)

Starring: Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, Josh Harnett, Billie Piper, Harry Treadaway, Reeve Carney, Danny Sapani, Rory Kinnear

Premise:
In Victorian London an explorer and a medium garner the assistance of an American gunslinger with a secret and Dr. Frankenstein to battle vampires and find the explorer's daughter Mina. Along the way a socialite named Dorian Gray, the monster Frankenstein, Dr. Van Helsing, and a prostitute come into the fold.

My Take:
At first I was apprehensive about the story, but it didn't take long for it to when me over as these classic characters from literature are woven together in a fascinating manner. And the story has so much room to grow for future seasons.

Rating: So Good
